PLC is the “Programmable Logic Controller” mainly the discrete control for the manufacturing process. Discrete logic is used for implementing using relay circuitry. Distributed Control System or DCS cards have been designed for controlling all the processes but not the discrete operations. Controller elements in the DCS cards are not central in location but distributed across various systems.
